Title: Coming Soon: ICS M1 Garand AEG
Post by: Vila on January 29, 2011, 12:23:22 am
I just heard about this, as they just had some teaser images at SHOT Show apparently. Not much info, but I'll post said pic on here. (which also features a Grease Gun) Also, here's the thread mentioning it from ASR. (look for post #801)

I saw this at Davids last year in their catalog. There were silouhettes of a grease gun and a 1903 springfield mistakenling marked M1. I can't wait for this, I can finally ditch this M14 project I have been working on, I just can't make a reliable top loading clip.
ARES just released a grease gun, but the battery is supposedly stored in the mag though. :/
2011 is gonna be a big year for airsoft, Echo 1 is coming out with a whole bunch of awesome AEGS, and companies are coming out with some pretty neat stuff. Thanks for the update Vila.

It wasn't the Springfield pictured, it was a SMLE No. 1 Mk III (aka: Lee-Enfield).

Anyway...

I am curious to see how a production M1 aeg will turn out.

My bad, I knew it had "field" in the name, just could not put my finger on it, should of noticed the magazine, which the springfiled did not have.  ??? Either way it wasn't an M1. I was curious to see if ICS was going to try thier hand at bolt action, but then david told me it was supposed to be an M1 garand.

Yeah, they're making all 3. I saw the silhouette image from someones SHOT show updates on Facebook, so the Garand was a surprise when I found that news. But now this means I need to get a Band of Brothers impression going. :D

I would bust a nut if they were making an SMLE, those things kick ass.

Its a WW1/WW2 bolt action rifle. What do you expect. Not the greatest gun but it gets the job done.

I found a small youtube video detailing some of ICS's new replicas. The grease gun is in there and it is none the less narrated by David. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LtghncHZZOk

Well, so are the Springfields and the 98K Mausers, and for that matter, so is the 91-30M PU.

And the M28, which was used by the greatest sniper of all time.

It does good functioning but not so much ergonomically.
