This was an eye opener to what the beginnings of the "War on Terror" shortly after the cowardice attack on US civillians in September, 2001. Eric Blehm has written a fantastic account of what the Army Green Berets ODA574 went through, both victorious and tragic, to help secure freedom and human rights for the Afgan people. The book gives you a glimpse "behind the curtian" that we didn't get in real time while the events unfolded and shows just how much our fighting men endure to defend freedom and deter the bad guys.
It is well written and has a great ballance of information and story as well as introducing you to the men of ODA574. There are a few slow spots but are very short and it recovers quickly so I highly recommend this book....
