Camping Questions
« on: May 13, 2009, 05:51:56 pm »
Are open fires (in pits, of course) allowed in the evening?

Do the teams have seperate camping grounds, or is there one massive camping field?

And most important of all... will coffee be available, or is that something we need to bring for ourselves?

fires in pits - yes

no seperate camping areas, teams will be intermixed in the safezone

coffee?  not sure, i hate the stuff so don't ask me ;) - i know the field has some, i used thier non-dairy powdered creamer at my last event - so my guess is yes, they have it, can make it, and will probably sell it

might not be a bad idea to bring your own set up though, if they are busy registering people, they might not have time to make coffee

Blacklung...  I am bringing instant coffee and you will get off your high horse and drink it!   No cream, no sugar, just good ol' fashioned, gritty instant coffee served in a metal cup!

I think in another thread he said it was fine, I'm planning for it too.

Hell yea, I will be there Friday night. What is an appropriate VC drink? Bootleg rice beer? If I can find some weird Asian beer in Schaumburg or something I will bring a case to perform a baptism for the VC team (members who are 21 of course).

ANd for those compatriots who are lame like me and are either under 21 and follow rules, or just don't drink, I'll probably have green tea. 'Cuz it's better than nothing, I suppose.

You aren't 21 yet? I was under the impression you were 20 last year.

Strangely enough, I get that all too frequently. I think it's the beard.

But yeah, I was 19 at Thunder last year. I turned 20 in December.
This December, when I turn 21, I'm goin' to buy a handgun. Forget booze.
