Due to the immense amount of nooblishiness on how to use this forum, I thought I would create this thread to help new users.
Steps to using this forum to your advantage:
1) After you are done making your account (which in case you didn't know how to make, there's no hope for you), proceed to make a new thread in the "New Player-Check In" topic. Introduce yourself, your guns, etc.
2) Ask any questions you need answered, BUT first make sure that someone else didn't already ask this question. You can do this by going to the search bar in the upper right hand corner and typing in your question and seeing if any threads relating to it are up.

3) Read some material. Go up to the top left corner and click on "Show unread posts since your last visit". These will give you information on various topics and leave questions open for you and other forum users to answer. Clicking on "Show new replies to your posts" will show you all threads that you posted in that other people have posted in too.

4) The biggest problem with forum noobies is mostly necroposting. Necroposting is the act of posting in a dead thread. Do not necropost, because no other people on here want to read a thread from 2006 that you decided you should post in.
NO NECROPOSTING!POST IN PLACES LIKE THIS:

DO NOT POST IN PLACES LIKE THIS:

5) Do not post links to any other websites saying, "This site is better. Come join it."
6) Photos can be uploaded by simply using photobucket or flickr. To upload pics go onto either site, upload your pics, and then copy the IMG code and paste it to where you want it.
7) Customize your profile. This can be done by clicking on the profile button, right under the news bar at the top of the page. Then go to "Modify Profile" and then "Look and Layout". Pictures can be added by posting the webpage of the picture itself. These pages should always end in something like ".jpg". User names can be changed by going to "Modify Profile" and then "Forum Profile". *NOTE* - You will have to log in with your original forum name that you registered with, but your name will appear different after changing it.
8. Absolutely NO advertising of ANY backyard events on this forum. Advertising on this forum with scheduled events at dedicated fields needs to be taken up with the authorities of this forum.
I'll leave this open to any others wanting to add information to this.
9) Make sure you know what your talking about so you don't have a foot-in-mouth moment. (It's happened to me quite a few times

)
