Extreme rof guns?
« on: May 28, 2010, 06:03:30 pm »
Well, i have some parts on the way for my p90 which will hopefully have be breaking the 40rps 400fps mark and I'm curious now.
How fast have all of you gotten you guns (aeg only please) and if you would mind, could you post up your parts list along with it.
My current is:                                     What it will be soon:
ks p90                                               Ks P90
amp high torque motor                        Xyclone high speed motor
guard high speed gears                       SHS 13:1 gears
Cheetah mosfet                                  cheetah fet
11.1 5000 mah 20c battery                  Guarder sp120 FTK
                                                         11.1v 5000 mah 20c
getting 30.3 rps                                   estimating about 42 rps
PTW's are just like Ferraris. Look great, cost tons of money, and can be completely dominated by things half the price

I wish I could afford BF3. I buy groceries and illegal slave-children instead.

I'm going to predict major breakage... High ROF + 400FPS = super wear and tear.

Also Kinko where are you :P

Just curious, why do you need 42rps and 400fps?  the gun will work much better with just one or the other.  Also what kind of piston/piston head and cylinder are you planning on dropping in this monstosity?

I have seen a video of a guy who achieved 70 bps (peak) with his p90. I forget the name/video, but if I find it, I will be sure to post it.
Every problem can be solved through the proper application of explosives, duct tape, teflon, WD-40, or any combo of the aforementioned items.

Dual sector gears can easily push 40-70rps.

It becomes next to impossible to get any kind of real velocity on a mecanical system at that high of a rate of fire unless your barrel is about six inches long or less and your spring is capable of generating about 800FPS in an M4-length barrel.

You'd do better with a gun that *won't* exhaust a regulation-legal magazine in a quarter of a second, and a lower velocity with which you'll still get the same range and accuracy without risking a dangerous situation with your gearbox.

I have an RPK that'll push 22.9r/sec at 300FPS and it's an intimidating gun.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

400 FPS won't get you to most games out here, honestly. I would say drop a Guarder SP100 for a high ROF weapon.

Hell, I'd even say an SP90.  I don't even think the Xyclone could pull a 120 without a dramatic loss in the ROF.

I agree on the weaker spring. A weaker spring is more suited for high ROF purposes.

If dual sector gears are used the spring will have to much stronger like an M180.  This will give about 300fps but a sick rate of fire.  Mind you this is also with a systema magnum motor.

Try getting a new piston, like the Systema Supercore for example.

@deruty if i tune with gun right the wear and tear wont be that bad to my standards

@ZERO i don't need it, i just want to. and I'll be using a guarder piston head with initially an azimuth full metal tooth piston then work though a list of pistons once that fails to find the best one

@GK3 what exactly do you mean, that it wont be allowed?

@DrRockso94 with a spring as weak as the sp90 i will run into premature engagement issues at this rof

@GK3 i don't really want to run a piston of that price in this setup because even that probably wont last too long ( and its system not systema), and i already have a mosfet installed on the gun now

guys, i didn't want this to become a "is this a good idea thread", i know exactly what I'm getting into here
i was just curios if any one you happened to try to achieve very high rof's and what your setup was if you did

1.  What point does going full auto at that speed serve?

2.  Dropping an SP120 spring on a high speed gear ratio setup means 1 thing.....stripped sector or spur gear.

3.  If you are trying to achieve that high of an ROF, then double sector gears are the way to go.

if your going for high rof with good fps, Eliminate all airleaks so you can use the weaker springs to the fullest
