Return of Putt Putt and Sparrow Unit's old hunting grounds.
I have to say ever since Putt was let go from the facility, the airsoft games just went down hill from there. I am glad he is with MAG and allowed him to run the games again.
I was shocked on how many people still go there, and also the fact 70% of people there didn't even know about this or part of any forums. I got some feed back from players who continued playing there through out the seasons said the notice a huge difference on how it was ran and love it more.
Just a reminder this is an open play. Yes there should be restrictions on fps but for c-mags/box mags I don't think it is a problem, it's Open play. First game at Wasteland I ran with only eight 30 round mags and got 12 kills fast. I look at this way, majority of the people running c-mags or drum mags pretty much camp and stay in place, Where as me and Kidlat running low-caps push hard and hunt down and every shot counts. It's up to the player not the weapon. Majority of CPX fields are for fast pace'd games. Wasteland, Armageddon, Bedlam are what I pay for when I hit CPX. Major target rich environment and running and gunnin. That's 6 games I am happy with and got my monies worth.
Tip for you players coming out to these Open games @ CPX:
Gear up
Expect to get shot @ close range
Expect to get friendly killed
With no uniform requirements, it will be hard to ID targets with arm bands. There will be a lot of newbies playing to expect to get the accidental shot by friendly and close range. Reason why I understand why 18+ has to still wear face protection. Plus these fields are small with the large turn out, BBs go flying everywhere. Especially Armageddon, OMG. I just sit back and watched and let people get there 2 hits and walk of the field then I would join in. I knew if I played right away I would get shot in the back of the head. These fields are not to made sit and shoot.
Yeah you got your Jungle of Doom and Fort Courage, but I sat out those fields, I can go to other fields and play jungle games, but that day the humidity took on the goggles and it was worth not being able to see, plus with a large field it is IMPOSSIBLE to ID armbands... too much "are you good guys or bad" screaming.
Overall I think it went well. This is like a stepping stone for players getting into MAG events or playing airsoft. Or I see it as MAJOR TRIGGER TIME! 100% paintsofting. Nothing wrong with that. Play your short 10-20 min games, head back, switch weapons, switch gear. This is great place to test out new weapons, add ons, gear, upgrades.. then know which works for you and use the proper gear for your MAG RoR games.
